The Preparation for Flight 77

The attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, in September 2001, were the most audacious and successful terrorist attacks ever mounted. Now a new book looks specifically at the attack which devastated the Pentagon, hitting the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense. It examines Osama bin Laden, the origin of al Qaeda, and how the hijackers were selected for the attack. It also describes how these men arrived in America and where they gathered prior to 9/11. The second part of the book takes the reader on a chilling driving tour of the places in suburban Maryland that the 5 hijackers of Flight 77 frequented in the 2 weeks prior to 9/11. The book concludes with the attack on the Pentagon and its aftermath.

The Preparation for Flight 77 is a terrifying look at how five men, bent on destruction and terror, lived and walked among the general population in the weeks leading up to the attack on the Pentagon. It is unsettling and unnerving and will leave the reader with a sense of disquiet at the ease of which their deadly mission was accomplished.
